Vests for DD in reception?

I've got a DS who has been in school for a few years but DD starts reception this year and I've realised how much more choice there is for school uniform for girls.

Anyway, what I'm curious about is does your DD wear a vest under her uniform? I've got some for DD but generally she's only worn them in the past when it's winter. Do you think she's likely to want to wear them most of the year? My instinct tells me she will if the other girls in her class do.

Thanks

Does her school top have a badge on it? If so a vest might be useful because they can rub.

You won't need vests. I have never been in a school which wasn't far too warm. Much better to get a cardigan and then she can take it on and off as she wants.

Our school gets very hot and my dc have never actually worn vests anyway - much to the horror of mil who was convinced this would give them pneumonia !!
DD started wearing cropped tops from about year 4 ( at her own request) on PE days

Both my DCs had given up on vests before they started primary school, theirs was always boiling anyway. Jumpers definitely enough.

None of our DCs had vests once they grew out of the baby poppered variety, despite the usual persistent dark hints about pneumonia, chills etc. In today's centrally heatrd environment, T- or polo-shirt and jumper combination is both adequate and versatile.

Mine only really wore them in winter in infants, then stopped wearing then in the middle years and move towards crop tops for the last couple of years of primary.

No. School is so hot she would then discard her jumper/ cardigan so would be in a vest and polo in the winter. I would rather she was in polo and jumper.

Depends as well what they wear for PE. Do they still do it in vests in some schools? I know I did, and my dd did at primary.
