Removing ironed on labels

My DS starts school in September and I was planning to reuse the school jumpers and polo shirts that survived his sister's use. However they have her name in on iron on labels and I can't get the bloody things off! The lot of labels I used this year came off after a month of washing so I wasn't expecting this to be an issue.

Does anyone have any tips on how to remove? If I could even just remove half then it would do with just last name

Cheers

Just iron new label on top?

Iron on top or just cross out her name/write his over the top

The one I used was able to remove by ironing again.(To melt the glue?)
It did leave the slight glue mark though.

I used to just iron the new one on top as you can't really remove them very easily

The two different sorts I've used so far have easily peeled off! I'd love to know which ones are impossible to come off!

The ones I use from Mynametags weld into the fabric so never come off. You could try melting off? Or iron new one on top

baking paper over the top, iron them and peel off with a fingernail or knife straight away, careful coz it'll be hot. or just stick a new label over the top, which is much easier.
