Incorrect unathorised absence recorded

DS1's attendance information wasn't supplied with his report which is standard as part of the end of year reports (Have a DS2 also at the same school). I went into the office to get a copy and I think I can see why his was omitted. The school incorrectly recorded DS1's absence as unathorised. It was for 1 school week (10 sessions). We had agreement for the school for him to have the time off as special circumstances and I have a letter confirming that. They have applied the correct code for DS2.

Is it as simple as the school just amending the register? Will I likely get a fine whilst this is sorted out?

Dd had two sessions recorded as unauthorised. I forwarded on the email saying she was off sick and they changed it

They can just change it. Mistakes happen.

I don't think you need to worry about fines, you have evidence of agreement.

My ds had taken more than a week off school in the past.We did get red letter of warning attendance.(Automatic, I believe.) Nothing happened. School new the reason.

Thanks.

It's just the school's policy says they automatically send unathorised absences of 10 sessions or more over to the LA to fine (following the Isle of Wight stuff). I do have evidence that it was authorised, but I would just prefer the school to sort it out before a fine lands on my doorstep.
