Surrey pre-prep advice - Longacre vs St Hilarys

Hi,

We are moving down to Shalford in a few weeks and our eldest DS starts Reception in September. He is down for Aldro but obviously we need a pre-prep, don't yet know if we will send him to Aldro anyway. We also have a younger DS and DD.

We are trying to weigh up Longacre vs St Hilary's. Does anyone have any advice on the merits of either over the other? Obviously he could stay till 11 at Longacre but would have to leave St H at 7, but we would probably move him on at 7 anyway given the challenges of schools at 11 for boys.

We want to send all 3 of them to the same pre-prep. How do the academics compare? Any other ideas of places?

Longacre is very unsettled at the moment.

Hi Maisiewalker - thanks for the info - do you know why it is unsettled?

I'd think St Hilary's is probably the more academic of the two. I think the head at Longacre may have left recently. I know more people who have had children at St H's but equally know people who have been happy with both.
