Anyone know of a preferably short film on you tube suitable for 9 year olds explaining what sex is ?
Thanks

It would help to know what you've talked about so far, what questions have been asked, how comfortable you feel about talking through some basics. I wouldn't recommend a YouTube vid (a short one, particularly) as the primary, nor sole, exposure (no pun) to sex ed. You need some pretty firm foundations and basics in there first.

I've told her what sex is and how babies are made. She knows all the terminology. She keeps asking the same questions and the other day said she was going to look.up what having sex is on the ipad, even though I have told her. So I asked would she like me to find a suitable video explanation online and she said yes.
I don't think she believes me!

Isn't 9 years old a little too young to be shown a video?

Not one that's aimed at 9 year olds surely?
Which is what I'm asking. The ones they show in schools (they don't at my dds school)

The ones shown in schools are animated.

I think we were shown "Living and growing up"

Yes it's an animated one I want

I'm a teacher (9-10 yr olds) and we use Living and Growing. I actually find it quite awkward as I then have questions from children about whether you have to do it like they do in the videos (handstands, chasing with a peacock feather!!). It's quite an old one we use though so maybe they've improved it.

Have a look on the BBC/Channel 4 education sites.
