Can someone tell me how the results are communicated to parents? Do they come through the school? Is it just pass/fail or do you find out the mark?

I received this along with the childrens' reports and was told the actual score
But I guess it's up to the school how they do it and different schools may take different approaches?

Our school only tells people whether they've passed or failed. It has no meaning really except those who don't pass get intervention in September.

Grumpbum · 14/07/2017 20:02

Score was given within school report

mrz · 14/07/2017 20:04

We send a letter with the score and whether the child met the expected score. For those who scored less than 32/40 there's also information about support in Y2.

Ds3 has just passed this in yr2, having failed in year one. We had a letter stating his score and the pass mark. We had the same thing in YR1, except that he hadn't passed. He was already under the SENCO, so I knew what was in the pipeline.

Thanks everyone- we don't seem to have had ours yet. Horrified to think she might be told she'd failed at 6! I think I'd rather just have the score!

When I say our school tells people if they've passed or failed, I mean by letter that the kids don't read. They don't need to know.

Stargirl82 · 14/07/2017 20:45

Ours go out with reports and letting parents know the score and pass mark. Also reassurance of help in year 2 if they haven't passed.

DD told me the day she had the screening but we got official confirmation in letter with her report including her actual score.

AugustRose · 14/07/2017 21:54

DS got his report today but they didn't include a score, it just said he had "reached the expected standard"

shamoffour · 14/07/2017 22:03

We got a score today in their reports. Dd has suspected dyslexia so I thought she would struggle but she actually got 33 so I'm very pleased.

Hersetta427 · 14/07/2017 22:23

We got a very official letter with his store on last week. He got 39/40 which we already knew as he said he got one wrong ! 4 yrs ago when his sister did it we just got a one liner to say she had passed.
