Parent hub

Can I ask if any parents have any experience of parent hub. It's an app for engaging parents with their school. I work in a school and am looking at ways of increasing engagement with parents and on the face of it this looks good but can't find any school in out local area that uses it to get feedback.
Thank you

I am a Governor. We do not use an app, but there is monthly drop in session for coffee with the Head and a Governor, we do a survey of opinions every year and actually take it round to parents on sports day, and we have numerous events where parents can come into school.Parents are always keen to have a chat at sports day and we get to meet a lot of parents that way. We also have a Governors Drop In to meet us and talk about any issues parents see as important. We hold this in conjuction with a parents' evening. We help out as adults on school trips and talk to other parent helpers.

Modern parents may well like an app though but I am not sure this replaces face to face discussions. Would it be rather faceless? We have found parents to be constructive in what they say and we always give feedback on the survey results and what we will do about any negatives. We also have a Governor section every month in one of the Head's weekly newsletters to tell parents what we have been working on and what the outcomes have been for their children. We have asked the Head to do weekly newsletters to inform and keep in touch with parents and they are appreciated by parents (so feedback tells us).

I think you can only do so much. Some parents are not "reachable" and they don't always want to be. Others who want to engage should be given opportunities.

Thanks for your response. The app would be to complement not replace the things you mention in your reply.
The app it says can be used to send texts, newsletters, messages to individual if groups of parents. I just wondered if anyone had used it and would recommend.

We have the app at my DDs school, but I'm not really sure how useful it is. There doesn't seem to be anything different on there than is on the website and I don't think it is up to date, so pretty useless.

The PTA have set up classlist.com, which is much more useful for publicising events and sharing information between parents.
