How long for appeal decision?

Our appeal for our son's primary school place was last week. We had a missed call on our landline from the education authority on the same day, we didn't take the call as we were out at work and there was no message left. I've since tried to call that number back but there is never an answer, I've also called the school admissions department but it goes to a recorded message with no option to leave a message.

How long did it take for others to find out please? I thought they may have notified us in writing but nothing so far. I'm so angry that I'm in this position in the first place but even more so that they don't even have the decency to get in touch with me.

It's utterly shit isn't it.

Our appeal is tomorrow and I'm told we will be notified by post within 5 working days.

Good luck Flowers

sausagepastapot it really is, I'm sorry you're going through it too. Thank you for the reply.

I bet the time scale was 5 days for us too and they've sent it 2nd class, hopefully it'll be in the post this week. I've sent my DS to do his settling in week at his new school this week, since he's had the upheaval and he seems to like it I don't know what to do for the best if we win. And if we have won then this whole week was not necessary.

The Appeals Code requires them to notify you of the result within 5 school days of the hearing unless there is good reason.

CoffeeBreakIn5 · 12/07/2017 21:42

Thank you for the replies, the letter came this afternoon and our appeal was unsuccessful.

Five working days

No, five school days. Normally the same thing but not when half term or holidays intervene.

Again I bow to you.
