Progress in year 6

Dd2 has always had good reports but this year did not make expected progress in a fair few subjects.
The sat scores were good at 114 scaled but I am wondering whether I should be concerned.

Or is year 6 just a difficult Year.

114 scales is good! The scaled scores go up to 120. In terms of SATs, a child cannot do better than 'working to the expected standard'.

Do you have his individual scores? The Spag test had a total of 70 marks, reading 50 marks and maths was 110. My ds1 got 103/110 for maths which equals to 114 scales.

TBH, I looked over his SATs scores but was more interested in his actual report as it was a proper reflection on who he is, rather than what he can do in a test he's been extensively prepared for!

Sorry, I didn't read your post properly! What is there particularly that concerns you?

I do think yr 6 is a tough year as the focus is all on the SATs. But if he's done well on them I wouldn't be that concerned.

I was pleased with sat scores but they are just one test. Like you I feel the reports should give a better idea. For example she was 5s last year but didn't get 6s this year in subjects.
Shame they don't have a parents evening

The old KS2 levels 3-5 (and 6 for exceptionally bright kids) don't exist anymore. Most schools will be using some form of assessment system but the levels will have changed. Are you sure this is not the case.

If she has 114 in all subjects then she can't have made any more progress as there is no higher level to achieve.

They are using Year than sub levels.
B b+ w w+ s s+.
If 5s last year they expected 6s this year for example but she hasn't managed this.
I know I shouldn't really be concerned as progress isn't linear.
