Mixed year groups in Key Stage 2 - objecting

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully objected to their child being put in a particular mixed year group class and if so how they put their case? My daughter is one of only 4 year 3 (at the moment) children staying in the same class next term. She has social issues and is only just starting to make friends in her current year group and it seems cruel to push her backwards.

I would ask why she has been chosen? It maybe that academically she fits in better or it maybe that at breaktimes she plays more with year3 than year 4. Or it may not be as thought out as that and maybe one of the youngest. You need to enquire how they are going to deliver the curriculum for those in the wrong age group and what will the plan be as they will need to do sats and transition to high school at the correct time.
