Mixed year groups in Key Stage 2 - objecting

I'm wondering if anyone has successfully objected to their child being put in a particular mixed year group class and if so how they put their case? My daughter is one of only 4 year 3 (at the moment) children staying in the same class next term. She has social issues and is only just starting to make friends in her current year group and it seems cruel to push her backwards.

Is this about government policy on class sizes? I certainly think you should ask what the reason is. Are any of her friends amongst the four being kept back? If yes, this may work out well for her both educationally and socially but if not, I think you should express your concerns exactly as you have expressed them here.
