Hello! Are there any parents out tgere attending this school? I am desoerately trying to find out more about atmosphere, academic achievements of current pupils as we are planning ro enrol our son. Isi report appears excellent and so thus the Leavers destinations to local Grammar schools. Any real thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I know several kids who go to Steephill School. They are very well behaved and confident kids. It is an excellent school with very small class sizes and excellent teachers. They do well academically and have lot of sports and extracurricular activities available. Kids have lot of opportunities to participate in school and outside school events if they wish. I've been told the only problem is with car parking but a new one is being built this summer.

I have children at Farringtons and find it a great school. Many opportunites, teaching adapted to the child and their level, good communications from the school. Both have been at other schools before this and much more settled and happy at Farringtons.

Do not send your child to Steephill School
Good school for the nursery to year 2 but the teachers are not very good at guiding the children in years 3-6
The parents have to do quite a bit as the teachers give the impression that they are not really interested in teaching the children

We've had 1 chd go through Steephill, and have another in her final year. They've both really benefited from the excellent teaching and pastoral support. It has small class sizes and supportive teachers all the way through the school. Behaviour is also excellent. It's been a good experience for us!

I personally wouldn’t recommend Farringtons at all.
I think it must have been nurturing a long time ago. Things have changed tremendously.
our experience was so dreadful that my son was counting the days to leave. Now he is in therapy as consequence of being there.
There was no pastoral care at all for our child, we don’t even know who is in charge of pastoral at that school.

The year 6 from a class of 16-17, half have left Farringtons to continue secondary school somewhere else. A sign things are not that great in Farringtons. Some are leaving because it’s not an a academic school.
This year for Year 7 starting in September they’ve had to pull out the waiting list just to fill in the spaces.

I know my friend and I would have left our boys to continue in senior school if they were happy. Sadly, my child was not happy or safe in Farringtons.
