Bit confused and dont want to ask anyone in RL incase its obvious but I got my DS school report and it states that possible attendance for the year (august to june (scotland)) was 340 days.

Actual attendance was 333 days.

This doesnt add up to me though. Theres 360 days in a year and he's obviously not there at the weekends so where does the 340 days come from?

I mtbus measured in half day sessions.

Fat fingers! *it is measured

I think in England there are 2 sessions per day so 10 per week, 30+ weeks. (34 in Scotland?)
Did he miss 3.5 days?

ineedamoreadultieradult · 06/06/2017 21:21

340 sessions. They split it into morning and afternoon. So 340 half days. 170 days.

Muddlingalongalone · 06/06/2017 21:22

36 not 34 obviously - I can do basic maths!

spanieleyes · 06/06/2017 21:22

The 340 mentioned will be sessions, i.e. A half day. So there were 170 days your child could have attended school- because reports will be completed before the end of the school year .

thatdearoctopus · 07/06/2017 20:36

170 days? How come it's 190 in England then?

mrz · 07/06/2017 20:50

Because the reports are completed before the end of term so attendance is calculated up to the date report is written.

thatdearoctopus · 07/06/2017 23:07

We always used to calculate it from the year before, so out of 380. Nowadays, it's presented as a percentage though, so hard to tell how many sessions it counts.
