Junior schools in Langley

We live in South-West England and love it here, but we have to move to London as DH is starting a new job there. We are looking for a place with good schools (Junior and Secondary). Langley has a few grammar schools and appears attractive for secondary education.

My DS will start Year 3 in Sept 2017. Could someone please list the Junior schools that we can apply for? And is there anything I should know? Any bad bits, any downsides? Please tell all!

Thanks

I know of this area - a bit. The best source of info is from the Local Authority. They should have details of which should have spare places. It is also a grammar school area so you need to be aware of that. What are the other schools like? It is near Slough, so multi cultural.

It is grammar and therefore you need to bear in mind the consequences if your child does not pass the exam.

It is a very multi cultural area

Be prepared to tutor tutor tutor to get into a Slough grammar. IF you drive round Slough you see loads of as road signs for 11+ tutoring and exam places.
Primaries there's one academy that had a big argument with ofsted and after an appeal and expensive legal costs they got their good status back. QuiteA lot of pupils left regardless, as the parents felt the original ofsted was justified which has put pressure on other places. Some pupils go to neighbouring bucks schools.
