If you google Armed Forces Covenant there are some good case studies on the gov.uk website

We look very closely at the progress of our service children and and tailor a programme for the individual child. If they need a strong boost to improve progress and attainment, that's what we aim for but if they are high flyers they may have something else provided such as a subscription to a club or something to boost confidence. Some of our service families are high flyers themselves, literally, and do not keep tabs on the few ££ we get for the children as they are well paid individuals whise children lack for nothing. They are happy for the school to make the decisions about the money and do not tot up what is spent on each individual child. The PP money is for raising attainment so that is where we focus the majority of it. The Sutton Trust published evidence of the best and most cost effective methods for doing this.
