Primary school offer; what next?

A couple of weeks ago we got a place for our daughter at the school we wanted. I got an automated email from the council website saying a place is 'offered'.
I was expecting to get some info through the post or a follow up email if we need to do anything further, but nothing has come.

Do we need to formally accept? Or is it automatic? I can't find anything online so any help/further info would be greatly appreciated as this is our first time and we are clueless.

Thanks.

I think it depends where you are, in my area they do an automatic acceptance so you don't have to do anything (unless you want to decline the place) but I think others you have to accept the offer. Our email had the info on, it is also on our council/schools admin website.

Which LEA are you in? Some assume acceptance, some want notification from you.

Yes I'd say you need to formally accept, check the email and website. I agree they don't make this blindingly obvious though.
