Ds isn't sitting SATS as SENCO says he just isn't academically able enough. We have just got a timetable through for 4 days. What happens for children in this situation? I don't want him shoved on a tablet or similar while the other do their tests

The tests will only take the equivalent of a lesson each day.
Depending on numbers I would imagine children not taking the tests will join another class

In the past I've given children in that situation a paper from a lower year group (back in the days when we still had optional SATS for years 3-5) so that they were the same as the other children. They did the paper in a separate room (as they would have done if they were doing the real thing) so no one knew their paper was different, but they weren't made to stand out or look different to their peers.
