Schools in North Ayrshire

Hello. I need some help... I live in North Scotland right now but in July moving to live in to Ayrshire. Tried to find some information what schools is best in that area. But not much help + just find out that Ayrshire is worst place to live in Scotland! Now it's even more important to find good school for my 8 Years daughter. I can't even decide where to stay and live. It's all depends where that good school will be located... Looking forward for any advice,help and opinions. Thanks in advance ;)

Skelmorlie is a lovely place, my cousins go to school there and it's fine. The village is very nice. Largs also has good reputation for schools, not sure which but the secondary gets good results too.

(I live in East Lothian, but have family and friends in N Ayrshire! Sorry can't be more specific)

Thank you for answers... Largs it's a little bit too far ... My partner works is Monkton so looking about 10miles around. Of course I ask about good schools and won't be surprised if best ones isn't in area I'm looking for... :(

Monkton is South Ayrshire which is a lovely part of the country!
Just down the road is Prestwick which is lovely and Ayr which also has many nice parts.

Plenty of good schools in South Ayrshire.

Ayrshire is definitely not the worst place to live in Scotland!! It's mostly lovely.

Sorry It's just information I find when been searching online about Ayrshire xxx Nothing personal. I'm sure everywhere you can find nice and not so nice places or people

Treysanatomy glad to hear that! ;) Just would be nice to get some reviews about some schools. For me is very very important to get right school, for my girl. Special as she's not British so it's bigger probability to face other problems... And sorry for mistakes...

You should search South Ayrshire rather than North if your dh working in Monkton. Try Troon, Prestwick, Symington and Dundonald. I work in a school in Prestwick and live there too. My children attend another school in the town too and I've previously worked in Monkton also. All good schools with good attainment and facilities. There are parts of Ayr I'd avoid but also some beautiful parts, though secondary school catchment can be an issue
