WANTED: Primary teachers (England) to participate in dissertation research

Good Afternoon,

I am a student at the University of Birmingham nearing the end of my studies for a degree in BA Education.

One of my final tasks is a dissertation, for which I am researching the confidence levels of primary school teachers in England regarding Physical Education. I was wondering whether you would be willing to take part in my research if you currently teach PE in a primary school, and whether you would be able to share the survey with anyone you feel it may be relevant to. Answered your survey - some of your questions are a bit confusing. Eg how much extra-curricular PE do you teach? 0 - 1 hours doesn't seem like a valid time frame - you either do it or you don't. Also, you may well find that many people like me came to primary teaching through secondary so answering no to having training reflects badly on some institutions. I trained in secondary music so wouldn't any!

I have responded as best I could but as a supply teacher rather than a long-term class teacher I'm not sure if my experience is valid or interesting to you.

I agree with the point above re. the time frames for pe lessons and training. I also answered that I had, on an average week during my teacher training, no pe training; this is because we had it as a block module in the 3rd (I think) year of the course rather than continually throughout it, as with the other foundation subjects.
