Has anyone won a primary school appeal?

We have our appeal tomorrow for ds1's primary school. He is due to start reception this September and we did not get any of our choices and has been allocated the worst school in the area.

Just wondering if any of you went through the appeal process and won?

Hi Curlygirly, how did you get on? We found out today that we didn't get any of our choices either and want to appeal. Any tips?

hi here - just seen this, Yes, we won ours.
Sorry I didn't see it before your appeal. Hope it went well.

what grounds are you appealing on?

hatwoman · 01/05/2007 23:27

just realised this was in March...

NJ3 wants to appeal though. So we could be of some use to her.

I will give my uual advice.

Read all the DfES stuff - guidelines on application, guidelines on appealing. Pin down EXACTLY what grounds you are using and stick to it. Don't throw in everything but the kitchen sink.

Read "How To Win Your School Appeal" by Ben Rooney.

And finally...

MAYBE... if you have a woman on the panel, turn on the tears a bit.
(I know, but it worked when DW did it!!)
