I have just had ds1 mid year report home, which states that he is an absolute pleasure to have in class, reading outstanding natural and fluent, but oh dear, limited concentration

It has been obvious since reception that he is bright and able but does wander to another planet at times. Reception and Year 1 teacher thinks it is an age thing, I am not so sure. Parents evening next week, what should I be saying.

At last p evening teacher said one of the brightest in class but dosent apply himself, should I worry or just try improve his concentration at home in other ways???

I shouldn't panic yet as he is still very young but you can always ask the teacher if they have any strategies for helping him concentrate and stay on task. Ask them if they have any exercises that he can do at home.

My brains a bit dead at the moment but i will try to think of some of the strategies we have used with ds to help him with his concentration and I'll get back to you

dido dd y1 sound just the same but I do think alot of it's their age they are still very young. If she was behind and not ahead I would worry more.
