My 9 year old grandchild has had his desk and chair replaced with a backless tall stool and a unit which has a flat top and shelves which are full from top to bottom. Therefore he cannot sit at a desk so is not comfortable at all and is unable to concentrate. This was only noticed Friday evening. What on earth can be done please?

Is it a standing desk?

A standing desk wouldn't/shouldn't have full shelves underneath it.

It sounds like there's no space for his legs? That would be really uncomfortable.

my 9 YO is on nursery furniture apparently!

Hmm that doesn't sound good. Where's he supposed to put his feet And stools are uncomfortable after a while

I've seen versions with shelves for books and pencil cases etc but there would normally be space for feet
