Just had 2nd parents evening of the academic year, the teacher is monitoring progress using a bar chart which shows scores in 13 different areas up to 9 points which they should reach by the end of Year 2.

But now I can't remember what all the abbreviations are for and the associated skills. Are they on the internet somewhere? I have searched but failed to find it.

Btw, DD1 has been marked at 6/7 for everything but writing which is 4. She's in Reception. It seems quite good to me!

I think you're talking about the Foundation Stage Profile - 13 areas assessed with 9 points within each area. It is meant for the Reception Year only, although some children will keep working towards these into Y1, if they are not ready for National Curriculum. You can down load each of the 9 areas here if you are interested... (although most Reception teachers find it an onerous and bureaucratic waste of their time, that doesn't tell them anything extra about a child that they didn't already know ) HTH

Thank you! Downloading it now.

(Have to say, was rather surprised when the teacher said 'by the end of Year 2' as DD1s points are quite high already and she's not even particularly academic. I think the teacher said it by mistake!).

She may well have meant year 2 of the foundation stage - FS1 is nursery and FS2 is Reception, then in Yr 1 it moves onto the National curriculum.

The avearge is 6, so if your dd is 6/7 already that is good.
