Science geek- Litmus paper query....

Ds is nine and becoming a science geek - I've been wondering whether anyone might know where you could buy litmus paper ? I promised him I'd try to find out.....

Education supplies catalogue? I presume anyone can buy from one, ESPO, NES Arnold and GLS are the ones I can remember.

Thanks - I suppose you'd have to buy in bulk or something 1 Do you think a chemists might have it ?

Am sure you can but this at the chemist. You could always try ebay too.

You can get little science kits in game shops and I would think they would have litmus paper in along with everything else.

Beetroot makes a good indicator as well as red cabbage. I like solutions more than paper because the colour changes are very vivid, and there's something very exciting (well, for me anyway) about making something and then using it.

thanks everyone - that's very helpful - I remember making the beetroot indicator at school ! He has a science kit but it's not really based on using chemicals as such (health and safety I should imagine !), the most explosive thing was our experiment with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda !
