We are considering Herington House School in Shenfield, Essex for our daughter who is going to be 3+ by Sept 2017. It is hard to find any reviews and I found some reviews saying it is too acedemic. May I please know if any has their child in this school and what do you think about the school. Please help.

Hi,

I saw your post about Herington House and wondered if you had had any response from anyone as I too am considering Herington House for my child too.

Both my daughters spent their entire primary school education at Herington House, the youngest having left quite recently. In my experience the school is best suited for children who are academically capable and whose parents may be thinking about targeting a Grammar School.

All three of my children went to Herington House School from the age of 3 to 11 and were extremely happy there. Each achieved to the best of their academic ability (which was very different in each case). One now attends a grammar school and the other two attend a local state secondary school. Each encouraged and recognised for their own individual strengths or talents whether it be academic or sports or drama. All three were quite shy but the teaching staff encouraged them and helped to build their confidence. I can honestly say that Herington House School gave my children the best possible grounding for the next step in their education.
