8+ Entry 2017 - WUS, CC, KCJS

Dear Mumsnetters,

I have noticed that there was an active forum for 7+ but not 8+, so I thought I start one to share our experiences and support each other.
We are waiting for WUS interview emails to come in today, fingers crossed. Reading from 7+ posts, I think it may arrive late in the afternoon like it did for them.

Thank you Bonibon. We are sitting 8+. Our WUS email arrived at 5.30pm this evening.

Does anyone have any experience on what to expect for the WUS 8+ interview?

We are on the waitlist for both 8+ WUS and SPJr. Is there anyone out there who knows someone who will turn one of these schools down? Trying to stay positive this week.

Schooling123 - if your SPJ letter did not arrive on Saturday, they will arrive on Monday depending on post.
njshorr - try to stay positive, I am trying the same :) Have you heard how long the lists are or an indication of how likely it is to get in from the waitlist?
Would be great to find out if anyone is turning down these schools. It is so hard to wait another week!

I guess it is impossible to know if a waitlist will move as it will be different every year..

Does anybody know whether interview plays the major factor in selection process or is it mostly written results? We are on a waiting list...

DS in on the SPJS 8+ reserve list. He is very keen to go to SPJS - probably a combination of knowing boys already there, the outdoor space and the exciting engineering activities he saw at the open day. How quickly do parents turn down offers? Being on a reserve list a absolutely agonising!

SPJN offered places to 42 boys, where take only 36-38, and additional 15 on the waiting list. apparently they only offered 1 place from waiting list today because all other places were filled.

I heard what Positive2017 posted and was told not to expect anything further from the school for those who didn't get in which seems a bit ...surprising actually and quite disappointing

I am sure the school will still send something in writhing about the outcome as advised in the letter, I am also surprised they have not sent anything yet,

I think initial letter said there would be another letter... regarding reserved list.
