8+ exam: how long for each section?

I'm somewhat disorganised: my ds is sitting the Westminster Under and Sussex House exams in January. I just (admittedly random guess) told him to allow 20 mins for each section (maths, creative writing, comprehension) only for him to insist it's actually 50mins per section: is that true? Because if it is, that's a 2.5 hr exam, gulp. My ds will probably start making paper airoplanes and get kicked out before tea :)

DMB I'm not certain but I think your DS is correct that each paper is nearer 45-60 minutes. Sussex House boasts that their comprehension exam is brutal and I recall other parents saying the comprehension is 15 minutes to answer 20 questions and 15 minutes to write a composition. I read the WUS maths exam is 50 questions in 45 minutes.

Right. Sounds like I'd better check with the schools! (and perhaps practice a few more comprehensions...)
