Reception application from different LA, moving in August next year

Seeking some help on understanding how the offers for primary school are made and what to do.
We live in London and will move to Winchester in August. My DD will start reception next year in Winchester so I will apply to the schools there but with a London address. After visiting the schools over there we made our selection of top 6 for the application but all of them are usually oversubscribed. Plus I really set my mind on the first choice.
How will Hampshire LA make her an offer not having a local address as she will not fit the criteria for an offer until long after they are made?
And when the offer is made on first round should I accept anything and have her name on a waiting list or refuse and wait for an offer during the second round?

prh47bridge Thank you for your message, yes I was referring to St Peters, it's good to know all those things. Their nursery this year only had 24 children so fingers crossed there will be at least a little space for my daughter.

Just to say I requested the deletion of my posts as I had too much personal info, and also felt that passing on inaccurate advice - albeit in good faith, as I had received it! - was not helpful to the OP.

OP One thing that I have just learnt from this thread is, as a PP advised, get all advice confirmed in writing. Almost certainly the info was given to us with the best of intentions in our (slightly more complicated) situation, but I have only just found out from this thread that it was wrong. I made notes of all conversations, including names, dates and times, but realise now that it would have been a good idea to have followed up in writing; I guess the moral of the story is that it's not obvious to a parent that the LA is making a factual error at the time if they are genuinely trying to be helpful and what they say seems to make sense!

Good luck with your application.
