11+ holiday prep - resources required please

My DD is in year 6 of a "through" school but she will be taking the 11+ exam at the same time as external candidates. The school says that the exam is a formality for the current girls but I would like to do a bit of extra work in the Christmas holidays to make sure she is on top of her game for the exam.

I am looking for recommended resources please for her to work through. English and Maths. Any recommendations please?

What type of 11+ is it? My ds sat a CEM one so I used the corresponding CGP books-Bond books would have been useless for a CEM exam. I liked the ten minute books because the exam is a lot about timings-once you've finished a section you can't go back, so it's important to practice speed and accuracy.

I also bought a pack of practice exam papers which were useful too.

Personall, if she's at a through school, I'd leave it to the school to sort out rather than get her to do work over Christmas. If you think there are areas she could do with work on (eg if she need more practice at grammar but is good at comprehension for example), I'd perhaps look at those instead. If the school is putting its own children through, it will do anything they need unless you are really sure that everyone else is doing extra work and there's a risk you haven't been told about that she won't get in.

You can find the sample paper from other grammar school and private schools. However, I don't think you need to bother too much as she has been in this school. I would assume the school has covered all area. You may find she is reluctant to do extra during Christmas. My DS1 refused to do anything during Christmas, so the papers I printed were wasted.
