Any recent views on Rotherfield Primary School

Hello All- I just signed up to mumsnet and this is my first post. Does anyone have any views they could share on Rotherfield Primary School? I have discovered that this is the only school we are in the catchment area for- narrowly missing out on Hanover. Primary school is some time away for us, and I appreciate much could change, but I have become concerned that we may need to move house and any more info would be gratefully received.

The catchment area for Rotherfield looks suspiciously large relative to the other schools in the area- not sure if this is a function of size or indicates it is not in high demand? I am interested in any general thoughts or comments you may be able to share (teaching, atmosphere, happy children etc). Also, there looks to be a fairly large proportion of children who do not speak English as a first language- not unusual in London I know- but does this hamper teaching and attainment of higher levels?

Rotherfield was undersubscribed last year, which, in this area, does mean that it's not considered a great choice. All popular Islington schools are oversubscribed.

I'd recommend touring Rotherfield and other local schools now and then you can decide whether you want to move. Also look at Shoreditch Park Primary School in Hackney, which though undersubscribed has an outstanding Ofsted.

Hi, I wonder whether you decided to go ahead with Rotherfiled or else, as this is my closest school and I have doubts about it.
