N London: Coleridge, Ashmount, Highgate Primary?

Would love any thoughts from anyone with DC there. These schools all look really good. What's the reality like..?
Is there anything I should be looking out for when I visit them?
Any other good schools locally to think about? (We're not religious so that narrows it down quite a bit around here.)

You can't live close enough to all of those to get a place though - unless you're planning a house move next door to your favourite school?

Yes, but I'm thinking about options and what to put on the form so was looking for feedback about these schools from current parents. But thanks.

Meant yes- my nearest is Coleridge then Ashmount (but out of catchment for both) and Highgate primary catchment seems huge so we might scrape in there.
There's Whitehall Park too in the new/old site which may not have a catchment (but equally doesn't have an Ofsted or a school building yet so I don't know much about it).

i hear good things about Whitehall park from parents. Very enthusiastic about the head teacher. The school situation in the area is much easier since it opened as it added 60 places. So st Michael's which used to be tough to get into is easier- might be worth a punt if you are in N6 and get postcode points. It has lots of outdoor space and a high-performing group of children.

Highgate Primary- some good initiatives like Mandarin classes. Not much outdoor space- I think they to to Highgate Wood.

Thanks whippet, that's all really helpful. It just feels a bit daunting at the moment to know what to bear in mind at the school visits.

That's excellent news about the opening up of more school places in the area. The previous threads on admissions look terrifying! Just need to hope we can get into one of them..

I second St Michael's. The grounds are amazing, very friendly school and with the expansion of school places, it's no longer oversubscribed.
