Does anyone know what the maximum number of children allowed in one class (Year 3)?

There is no legal size for junior classes, although most schools try to keep them below 30.

in scotland it's 33.

30 for infant classes

25 for composite classes

and dropping to 25 for primary one as of august

i think.

So I'm not wrong in being unhappy that DD's class has grown to 36 (poss 37) due to constant intake mid-term with people moving to this area (supposedly very popular because all the schools are excellent)? I started investigating when I asked her what she did when she got stuck doing her 'number bonds' and just couldn't work them out. She replied that the line to talk to the teacher was always so long she just waited until playtime. Thank God it's parent's evening in 2 days time..... Any ideas on how to approach this without seeming to blame the teacher, who I know is excellent?

Its 35 here for junior classes. Though they do try to keep them at a max of 30.
