Hi mrz

what are your thoughts on this?

mrz · 19/10/2016 17:48

I think it's a start

Delighted that they've dropped the absolutely awful Y7 SATs resit proposal.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/10/2016 18:03

Yes. Dropping that in favour of catch up support is much more helpful.

The adjustment to writing moderation is a huge step forward. Still don't think that's going to deal with the other issues with writing moderation.

Thank you for that link. Do you have a link to the Rochford paper it states they will be publishing today? I can't find it.

shouldwestayorshouldwego · 19/10/2016 18:24

Thank goodness for that. I had images of dd resitting alongside doing her finals.

mrz · 19/10/2016 18:29

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/rochford-review-interim-recommendations#history I don't think there's a newer version but this is the interim recommendations

Delighted to see about dropping resits for yr7s - adjusting to a new school is hard enough without having to worry about that sort of thing on top.

SisterViktorine · 19/10/2016 18:34

Thanks- yes I have seen that one. It specifically mentions they are publishing something today- I guess we wait to see what that is.

SisterViktorine · 19/10/2016 18:36

Does this mean the tables test for Y6 is out too?

mrz · 19/10/2016 18:47

It was announced in the summer that times table tests would be postponed for a year

No Y7 re-sits.

Optional KS1 SPAG.

Good start indeed.

Excellent the year 7 resit was a stupid idea for a variety of reasons.
