DD said a child hurt her privates at nursery

DD is nearly 4. She told me earlier that a boy at nursery had hurt her mini today. I asked what happened and she said he hit her mini and then took his trousers off and hurt his willy. I asked if she told the teacher and she said yes and the teacher made the boy go to the dr all by himself

I'm going to admit to not knowing what to say at all at this point. She carried on playing and seems fine. It's such a strange thing to come out with. I didn't want to ask too many questions as I didn't want to put ideas in to her head.

Is this something I should be concerned about? I'm planning on speaking to her teacher just to see if she has any idea of what may have happened.

Definitely ask the nursery staff what happened and how they plan to ensure it doesn't happen again.

It sounds like your DD is fine as in not hurt, but I'd be worried about what the boy has been exposed to at this point.

That did cross my mind Fan, I'm hoping that the situation was completely different to how DD is remembering it. The part about them sending him off to the Dr's all by himself obviously does not sound plausible. At the same time, even though she's 3 and has been known to exaggerate situations before as they all do, this is the first time she has ever mentioned anyone touching her down there and talking about the boy taking his trousers off and hurting himself doesn't seem like something she could've plucked out of thin air.

Will have a quiet word with nursery later to see if we can establish the facts.

It could be something or nothing. Certainly check out what the staff say. Has he done anything similar before?

DD has only been at the nursery since September. The boy she mentioned last night has been mentioned quite a few times by her. Usually "X hit the toy on my head today" "X snatched the hedgehog from me today" or sometimes "X is my best friend". It's hard to get much out of her on what she's done at nursery but he is the child she seems to play with as he is mentioned a lot.

This morning, I asked her if she could show me how and where X hit her. I'm not sure that was the right thing to do. She has said this morning "X didn't hit me". So I'm not sure now what's going on at all!

I've got two concerns now. 1, that it did happen and obviously that's not a good thing or 2, it didn't happen but she's got the idea in her head somehow. Which worries me as to why she would think about anything like that.
