Hi. We're moving to Newport in the next few months and have been to visit two local primary schools, Newport Junior and Moorfield. Can anyone give us their opinions on them?

Both are lovely I think (I know parents of children at both through babygroups/Brownies etc. but probably know more about the junior school really) although Moorfield is outstanding whilst the junior school is (only!) good. I think they're similar sized despite one being a junior and one a primary - the junior one has 2 or 3 classes per year whereas Moorfield has only 1 or 1 1/2. There's also the catholic school which doesn't seem to be overly religious and a lot of people send their kids to the primary in nearby Edgmond.

Great. Thanks for that. Haven't looked at Edgmond as didn't think we'd be in the catchment area.

Tbh although the one in Edgmond gets a good Ofsted report I know of a few people who've had problems there and it can be a little bit snobby (hope no-one on here has their children there!).
