First PGCE placement - any advice?

Hi there, my first placement starts on Monday, for 7 weeks.
Am pretty nervous, and want to make a good impression/be useful/do a good job.
Can any of you give me any 'unofficial' advice that my tutors may not have passed on? I am taking my own mug.

Yes, the tiredness is 100% normal!

I know you're battling a cough but do 5ryvti get out of the school for a few mins of fresh air a day. I find it makes a huge difference to my focus just to walk around the block.

and no, playground duty doesn't count!

do *try Grin

Thanks both - much appreciated - I don't feel quite so wimpy now Grin.

I really love being in my school and class, but I wouldn't say I really 'own the room' yet though - I'm more of a 'scribe on the side' rather than a 'sage on the stage'. I'm hoping I can learn!
