Missing nursery friends

So my son just started primary school. The majority of his nursery class have moved to a different primary school... And all he keeps saying is he misses his old friends.. Its breaking my heart. There was various reasons why we chose this school over the other. Its a fab school! Is this just normal adjustment.. Hes normally such a loud happy bubbly boy and he just seems so unconfident and sad right now.

Can you not arrange a play date? Both my dcs still have friends they made in nursery and my eldest is now 10, i think even if it's only once or twice a month it can help to see familiar friendly faces Smile

DD went to a totally different school than her nursery friends. 5 years down the line and the 4 girls are still best friends. It is all about making an effort to keep in touch.

It helped that we parents also became friends and before the nursery time was over we did lots of playdates at weekends anyway. But after that we made the effort to keep in touch, go for outings together, meet up and luckily the 4 share a hobby as well.
