Saving for University costs - best options?

Hi, would very much appreciate if you could share your knowledge/experience in this subject.

We want to start saving for education for our 2 children, they are 4yo and 2yo so this is a long term saving/investing plan . What would be our best option ? With grandparents' generous contribution we may be able to invest up to 20k.

Many thanks

You need good advice as if not carefully planned you could end having to pay tax on the interest of the savings.

The obvious options are child trust funds/child isas, as they are tax free.
