6 year old HATES school

Just started primary 2 last week.
Has cried every night and every morning that she doesn't want to go to school.
The only answer I get from her is "it's boring!"

Now she settled in to school no problem last year. She has lots of friends that all followed through together from nursery. She does really really well in school and has won various awards.

She can be very moody, but is also very bright and funny. I don't know what to do? I just feel like if she hates it already is there any hope ?

'boring' is a default word, it doesn't mean she is actually bored.

There must be some things she likes, see if you can find them.
Does she get on OK with the new teacher?

It could just be a reaction to the long holidays and being more tired, and more proper 'work' being expected in the higher class.

If it doesn't settle, I suggest you talk to her teacher.

Crying every morning and evening for two weeks is a bit more than 'settling in', possibly.

I would request a meeting with her teacher to discuss situation fully asap.

Could you ask her to draw sons things she likes and some things she doesn't like? Might shed some light on what's going on. Definitely speak to the teacher.

In year 2 , there is a whole lot less playing. Ours rarely get to play with the home corner or shop or whatever,theres just too much work to cover. Could this be the problem? We often hear "it's boring" when they don't want to do the work.
