Best girls grey socks

Have a lot to get this year as I have to completely replenish 2 sets of uniform so am trying to spread it out to avoid a heart attack....😲

Fed up of white socks so going for grey. But need ones that when they say knee high actually are

We don't have a primark. Will look at sainsbury but their white ones were like asda's last time I looked which weren't very good no idea if grey will be the same but will see if ours has any...

I usually order these things online due to places like next not stocking the uniform and being unae to see the quality/design properly before I buy....

I have found the best school socks are Pex brand, though we've not had knee high ones. The elastic actually remains elastic IYSWIM.
DD usually has JL socks, but yes- they don't stay up, do they?

Oh God yes the JL ones. The plain ribbed with ones,fab length but always fall down. So not worth the extra cost

Re the pex- just looked on amazon. It says high wool. Do they stink like wool when damp? And are they itchy like wool?

Sadly, the colour (not grey) is a perfect match. Tbf, she wears tights about 8 months of the year.
It's a shame, as they look really nice, if only they'd stay up.

Our Pex ones are cotton/polyester, about 80% cotton I think. I get them from uniform supplier, sorry. (Who do online sales, if you want I can only the store details, but no idea how much delivery charge would be, as ours send to school for free pick up)

We do have wool for DS, they wash well actually, not smelly (but he's still v small, not a sweaty teenager!)

Do any other girls wear grey socks? I always felt sorry for the girls in great socks - usually because they have older brothers and the parent didn't realise it was meant to be white for girls!

They can wear white or grey. Just white looks so grubby after a while.

I agree re white- they just look rubbish after a few months. Maybe if we had more sun to bleach them?
I'm sure when I was small people had white socks that stayed white because they were 90% polyester!

We have had tesco black knee high ones and they are fab. Not sure if they do grey though. I tried to check but ever since they switched the clothes over to tesco direct i can't find anything and it's basically a pile of shite.

I do have some of the Pex ones but at £7 for two pairs the tesco ones win as were less than half the price.

My DD is quite tall but we always use the M&S grey socks. Actually the choice at her primary was white or grey, but i hate white school socks, so for ages she was only person in grey, then i think she started a bit of a trend.

she is now being fussy about black tights. She is only 12, but needs to wear bigger sizes, or else they are not long enough. Doesn't like the woollen type ones. But the ones she likes are quite expensive for only one pair! Velvet touch or something they are called.

I will check out tesco too then.

Dd hates tights and the the state her legs end up in can't say I blame her.

White socks always stay white here. Just wash at 60 degrees with double the dose of bio powder. I use Aldi bio. All polo shirts stay white too. I think grey knee socks look very odd.

I have washed at 60 degrees some things just don't come out.

Grey looks fine

Plus doubling upon the washing powder and stain remover/ mineral bleach would be pricy.

Can't use regular washing powder

Grey m&s or JL here. White are terrible. Much prefer grey. Have one in grey and one in navy so we know whose are whose. Boys socks are usually ankle length so can't see anyone thinking they are hand me downs! Ours are proper knee length too. Although the older one always rolls them down.

I think grey knee socks look adorable on little girls. M&S ones here.
