KS2 SATs results: AIBU 2have high expectations?

Ds is finishing Y6 and very bright. He has always had outstanding school reports, but his Y6 report is very good - albeit not outstanding. His SATs results are below, and I know it is above the expectations (100). But I cannot feel slightly disappointed with the spelling mark, and also think he could have done better with his maths. AIBU to have such high expectations?

Reading - 119
Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling - 111
Maths - 113

There is a difference between having high expectations and expecting perfection. Not achieving full marks does not mean that there has been any failings on the part of the child or the teacher. Children make mistakes because they are children; they are under time constrictions, they lose momentary concentration or they simply cannot remember something they have learnt.

OP I cannot remember the exact scaled score conversions but that maths score equates to dropping around 7 marks across all 3 papers.
I seriously hope your DC does not realise that you are disappointed in them. Expecting perfection of your child will do no favours to them or you.

OP, do me a favour and just bloody stop.
Getting less that 100% is not something to be ashamed of. Do not give your child that impression.

Weren't you aware that they altered age related expectations so dramatically this year, your son was expected to achieve at a level that in the past was KS3? So he's achieved those scores in the teeth of considerable odds.

Frankly, I'd be asking why your school didn't better prepare you for this report year being a lot tougher than past years.
