Year One report

I'm really struggling to know how well my son is doing at school. He's just got his end of year one report and he's got meeting expectations across the board. Is that good or are lots of kids getting exceeding expectations at this point? Thanks!

No - expectations are high and so meeting them is very good. It means he's exactly where he should be.

Thank you, that's good to know. I guess the middle group must be quite a wide band. The expectations on them do seem high, I'm sure I wasn't doing half of that stuff aged 6!

If most of the kids were exceeding expectation then they would raise the bar even higher. As long as he is meeting expectations and you can see he is progressing than that is good.
