Is there any app or software to use for the Schonell spelling list? I'm sure my son would jump at it, even if it isn't fancy at all.

Isn't this a set spelling list for a standardised assessment i.e. they do it once and if they do it again then their score is meaningless as it doesn't reflect their "raw" unpracticed ability?

There's a whole programme (been around for decades) and it's been widely used in schools for yonks.

I'd like to know if there's an app, because I think I'd stand a better chance of persuading the DC to practice on screen than on paper.

You can set your own spelling lists with Squeebles.

BueChampagne, thanks, I'll have a look at that!

drspouse, it's a list of the 3000 or so most common words, in smaller groups for each age group, according to difficulty.

All I can find when I Google it is two lists for tests, called A and B, each 100 words long.

On Amazon, I see the booklet as the first result when I search schonell list.

Yy to Squeebles, all of them are excellent (fractions, times tables etc as well as spelling).
