11+ tutor recommendations Warwickshire

We are fairly new to the area and my daughter is currently in year 3. I am beginning to think about finding a tutor, possibly for next year. I have asked some of the parents at school for personal recommendations, but none have been forthcoming with details. It all seems to be very secretive which I find most unusual. So, if anyone has any personal recommendations they would be very greatly welcomed.

Thank you for your reply and huge apologies for not getting back to you sooner. I am closer to Stratford upon Avon so a bit far away from you.

My DS sat the Warwickshire 11+ in September 2015. We used a company called Ksol based in Shirley, Solihull which specialises in the CEM exam. They hold classes on a Saturday morning in Shirley and on a Wednesday afternoon in Warwick. However we signed up for the online course where my son did daily tests on the computer and he also sat 4 mock exams during the year. I can throughly recommend them and my DS will be going to KES in Stratford in September.Smile

Thank you very much for that information sparkles18 I shall take a look at that company. Well done to your son, that's great. Was the online course the only preparation he had for the 11+?

As well as the online course we also used CGP books and test papers and First Past the Post CEM books. Ksol also have great resources too. We started the online course in the summer of 2014 before he entered Year 5 but they also offer a course for Year 4 pupils but I felt it was too early to start it then.

There is a great website called elevenplusexams which has masses of information. Also on the site there is a regional forum which is brilliant. Warwickshire is listed but also go to the Birmingham forum as they sit the CEM too and it's a busy forum where you will learn so much. These forums are addictive thoughSmile

Did you know that Shottery has an opening evening next week on Wednesday 15th June 6-8pm and Alcester Grammar's open evening is Tuesday 5th July 5-8.25pm. It's a good opportunity to have a look around and a get a feel for the schools and see what your daughter thinks of them.

Hope this helps and let me know if you need any more information.

Thank you so much for all of that information, I shall have a look for all of those resources. Thank you also for the school information, it is very much appreciated.
