School Open Days - Sep 2017 entry

For Sep 2017 entrance, when should we be looking at schools and do we need to go to open days or can we just visit on spec?

Primary schools usually start taking appointments and holding open days in the autumn term. Leave it a couple of weeks into the start of term then ring them and ask to view. some have open days, some book group tours with other parents, a few do individual appointments. We had all of this when we were looking.
