Hi .my dad has just turned 10 & at an independent school ...I'm thinking about a maths tutor are group tuition just as good as one to one ?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It entirely depends on what your DD's needs are. If there are specific gaps that need tackling, then one-to-one is likely to be the best bet. Ditto if it's a case of preparation for a particular school's style of exam.

My DD attended group tuition at a local Kip Mcgrath centre for her 11+. Seemed to work well for her as she passed both the 11+ and an entrance test to a competetive independent school.

The one she attended was really good but I know they are a franchise and so may vary. Try to get some recommendations to tell you what your local one is like.

My DS also did the Kip Mcgrath route and it worked for us!

And I know an English teacher who put both her DC into Kip and both failed the 11+.

I would try personal recommendations in your area.
