Crowstone Prep School - Southend

Does anyone have any experience of this school? Any views, good or bad?

I would be wary of this school.We've had many,many kids come to Thorpe Hall from Crowstone because they're not happy there.It sounds like a generalisation but several of the kids who have come over have had to stay down a year to catch up with the work.Class sizes are too small (so I'm told).

@disorganisedmummy , this was sage advice. I do hope the op stayed clear of this school which closed down a few months later. Unfortunately we were not so lucky.We moved into the area and missed the state school cut off dates and our choice of independent school did not places. Sending our children there was the worst decision we could possibly have made, we let them down badly by making such a poor choice.

I read this morning that if a private school receives a warning they will now be forced to publish it on their website (something they were always required to do but of course Crowstone did not ). Hopefully this will put an end to substandard places which call themselves a school. Although I would find it highly unlikely that another school like this exists anywhere in the U.K.
