Dc first day at new school on thursday

And I'm so so nervous. They aren't, they are excited.

I'm so worried they will be bullied for being new :( they are going into year 3&1.😩

Dont stress! Or rather, keep the stress contained until they are at school, and then panic needlessly until they get home.
My YR and Y2 started a new school in November.
They came back the first day with smiles, and DS1 had a "new best friend, nearly as good as one at home"
for now, and for Thursday.

My DD started a new school after Feb half term. She has had no problems and absolutely loves it. She's Y2. Her teacher said it's like she's always been there

My year 1 changes schools after easter feeling very apprehensive

Eldest moved primaries start of year 2 and settled quickly.

From what I've seen with DD's class new children are always welcomed with open arms, with everyone vying to look after them etc.
Certainly a few weeks in and it is always impossible to tell who is 'new' and who has been there from the start.

My ds started a new school a few weeks ago in year one. I was nervous and he cried on the way in. This was after he had been excited in the days before.

However he's settled so well and made some new playmates already. He does ask to go back to our old home but funnily enough hasn't mentioned his old school.

My experience has been the same as TeenandTween's.

Dd's school has several new children starting every year. The novelty of having a new child in the class never seems to wear off. Everyone wants the teacher to pick them to show the new child around and to play with them at lunch time.

The lucky Chosen One will be mobbed by classmates who want to join in with whatever is going on with the new person.

By the time the next new child starts, the previous one will have been firmly established as an 'oldie' and will also be competing to show them around. :o
