New levels for primary school (year 3)

It's that time of year again (parents evening). Dc2, year 1 all was fine, we were told if they were above / at / working towards the national expected level. Dc1, year 3 we were given a number, but have no idea what that number means! Is this school specific or does it relate to a national level?

School specific I'm afraid as national levels have been scrapped. Have school not given any information prior to this point in the year about assessment? I would be surprised as all I know of have. Did you ask her teacher what it meant?

Thank you. She did say where they were expected to be at the end of the year, but I've no idea what that means they can actually do iyswim. It all seems a bit meaninglessConfused
