New Beacon School Sevenoaks

Hi Mums,

We are looking at New Beacon for our DS and found it really nice during the visit. However a google search for New Beacon reveals a new item from 2008 about a music teacher being jailed for abusing boys.

This has put us in a quandry. Any views, suggestions, advice from mums whose children go to this school or who live in the locality will be really helpful.

Ilugna, both of my boys go here. It is a wonderful school and we were informed briefly about this. I do not have any details about it but we like the school and all that it does for them. The school is very strict on safe guarding and had done all the background checks. There is a local Sevenoaks Mums page on facebook and you can lots of feedback there.

I sent you a PM with details of the Facebook page. If you put the same post there, then you will get lots of feedback about NB as well as Solefields (the other boys school) as well as all the co-eds. You will get first hand information about everything...

The general consensus is what they do now and the protective measures they take. I couldn't even get past reception last week during the school day and my face is 'known'. It took 15 mins to get clearance for my meeting...
